He was predeceased by: his father Coy D. Chappell; his significant other Paula Chappell; his mother Eunice Chappell; his siblings, Gary Chappell, Vernice Chappell and Patsy; and his brother-in-law Jerry Wills.
He is survived by: his daughter Shelby Cathey (Cody); his granddaughter Emma Tidwell; his siblings, Cathey Chappell, Debbie Forrester, Judy Chappell, Liz Mitchell (Lee), Sandra Baker (Eddie) and Barry Chappell (Pattie); his siblings-in-law, Carol Fortner (late Bobby), Diane Cummings (late Henry) and David Cagle (late Nancy); his nephew Michael Daniel (Lexie); and his pet Bullet. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Humphreys County Funeral Home (217 E Main St, Waverly, TN 37185). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
