With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lula Maie Wood (Nashville, Tennessee), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 96. Though Lula Maie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Lula Maie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, JB Counce (Jake) and Nola Cook Counce; her husband J. Donald Wood; and her daughter Jan Counce Wood. She is survived by: her daughter Jill Wood Jarvis; and her grandson Jarrett D. Jarvis of Hendersonville, TN..
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Spring Hill Funeral Home (5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery (5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216).
