Rusty Groffman wrote a sympathy message

“Leon was such nice man, gentle and kind. I met him only a few years ago in a Bible study class we took at the Temple. He was a 'gutten nashema,' a good soul and knew a lot about justice and honor. He was an honorable man with just the right mix of humbleness with a good sense of right and wrong. This man had a lot to contribute. He will be greatly missed...and now he is at a well deserved peace.”
