Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Janie leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Roy Griffitts and Nancy Griffitts; her husband Fred; and her daughter Leslie Smith Newton (Jim). She is survived by : her son Todd Smith (Cheryl); and her grandson Zack Newton Ashley Newton (Jenny). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 1st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Waybright Funeral Home (511 S Church St, Ripley, WV 25271). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 1st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
