He is survived by: his wife Iris Teats; his children, James "Jimmy" Teats, Jeffery Teats, Juanita Carney (Quentin), Jerome Teats and Jessica Teats; his stepchild Jabbar Bowen; his grandchildren, Cassandra Sanders, Jasmine Teats, Jairus Teats (Ariana) and Jakobi Teats; his stepgrandchildren, Marty Curle, Timothy Mangrum (Jessie) and Brent Buttrey (Lisa); and his great grandchild Jordyn Leftwich. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Highland Hills Funeral Home & Crematory (2422 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN 37207). Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Temple Church (3810 Kings Ln, Nashville, TN 37218). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Middle Tn State Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
