He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joe and Mary Sexton Kimbrough, Sr.; his brother William Joe Kimbrough, Jr.; and his granddaughter Mary Katherine Elrod. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Almand Kimbrough; his children, Mary Joe Kimbrough Elrod (Terry), James "Jamie" Edward Kimbrough, Jr. and David Lawrence Kimbrough (Kim); his grandchildren, Rachel Elrod, Rebekah Elrod, Carrie Kimbrough, Austin Elrod (Marisa), Grace Moreno (Edinson), Tyler James Kimbrough (McKenzie) and Adair Kimbrough; and his great grandchildren, Caden, Ady, Henry, James, Max, Mia and Ben.
