He is survived by: his wife Linda Mealer Whitehurst of Brentwood; his children, Terry Dugger of Franklin, Lisa Hall (Bryan) of Phoenix, Arizona and Gary Whitehurst (Ashley) of Atlanta, Georgia; his stepchildren, Jamie Gentry of Chapel Hill, Julie Tankersley (Brad) of Belfast and Jennifer Smith (Lance) of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; his siblings, Brenda Gregory (Charlie) of Naperville, Connie Baker (Richard) of Franklin, Tennessee and Byron Whitehurst of Lebanon, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Allison Guidry, Mason, Chase, Pryce Hall, Thomas, James Whitehurst, Braley, Jarrett Gentry, Bryce Tankersley, Taylor, Sadie and Grant Smith; and his great grandchildren, Gunnar, Wyatt and Ryder Guidry.
