He was predeceased by: his wife Judith Downes; and his brothers, Jack, Thomas and James Downes. He is survived by: his children, Leslie Gibbs, Mark Singleton and Lawrence Pyle; and his former wife Virginia "Tinker" Denson. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Nashville National Cemetery (1420 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, TN 37115).
