He was predeceased by: his father G. Wilson Mitchell of Dickson, Tennessee.; his wife Joyce Holland Mitchell; and his mother Pauline Smith Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Brad Mitchell (Jennifer), Darren Mitchell (Heather), Donna Barker and Allison Carter (Jeff); his grandchildren, Joseph Clark, Lynn Mitchell (Ashley), Chad Barker, Ethan Mitchell, Ryan Barker, Avanell Mitchell, Makena Carter and Wilson Mitchell; and his brothers, Johnny Mitchell (Linda) and Scott Mitchell.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel (5852 Nolensville Pk, Nashville, TN 37211). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to The Pavillion Senior Living in Smyrna or Hillcrest United Methodist Church's General Fund.
