It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Columbus Heard (Nashville, Tennessee), who passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Essie Cox Heard; his children, Columbus Shack (Crystal), Jimmy Heard, Johnny Heard, Edward Cox, Nicole Prather, Emma Shelton (Steve) and Samantha Blacksmith (Herman); and his siblings, Virginia Johnson (Richard) of Una, Mississippi and Learnest Heard of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, host of great grand-children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Highland Hills Funeral Home & Crematory (2422 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN 37207). Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 4:00 PM at 1248 Dickerson Rd, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
