He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Owens and Della Nora Rice Owens; his siblings, Neely Harwell, Robert Carrol, Ed Archibald "Bill", Aubrey Raymond, Charles Delmer Owens, Audrey Della Harris, Rena Elizabeth Green and Sylvia Ann Owens; and his grandchildren, Matthew Stephen Kaskela and Kristin Lynn Duffy.
He is survived by: his wife Myrtice Jean Taylor Owens of Nashville; his daughters, Janice Alese Duffy (Roger) of Nashville, Ruth Ellen Alvin (James) of Wheaton, IL, Debra Anne Owens-Hughes (Stan) and Brazil; his sister Patricia Eliza "Pat" Dyer of Virginia; his grandchildren, Aaron Duffy (Lesley) of Johnson City, Adam Duffy (Beth) of Los Angeles, CA, Andrea Duffy, Katie Stevens (Josh), Andrea Burkly (Dan) of Wheaton, IL, Sharon Neumann (Gus) of Apex, NC, Mikaela Otavalo (Samuel) of Nashville, TN, Zachary Owens-Hughes of Nashville, TN, Carlos Owens-Hughes of Little Rock, AR, Sierra Estes (Evan) of Houston, TX and Arielle Stewart (Shawn); his great grandchildren, Samuel, Ethan Duffy, Matt, Jack, Julia, Nathaniel Burkly, Owen, Taylor Neumann, Alex Stevens, Emma Otavalo and Raiden Stewart; and his sister-in-law Antionette Wallace Owens.
