He was predeceased by: his former wife Thelma Sullivan Herrod; his daughter Melissa Kay Herrod; his wife Phyllis Batson Herrod; his grandson Stephen Williams; his stepgrandsons, Tyce Taylor and Isaac Lightburn; his parents, Wylie David Herrod and Ruth Craddock Herrod; and his siblings, Thelma McElroy, Sara Davenport, Ella Mae Mai and John Nathan Herrod.
He is survived by: his children, Gail Todd (Jerry) and Dianne James (Steve); and his stepchildren, Pam Taylor (Victor), Paula Curtis (John) and Terry Larkins (Randy).
