With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Bunting of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, born in OBrien, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 2, 2025 at the age of 89. As Shirley Ann departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Shirley Ann. Though Shirley Ann may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Oliver Bunting; her parents, Frank Collins and Elma Hawkins Collins; her sister Geraldine Coop (Collins); and her brother-in-law Archie Coop.
She is survived by: her sons, Donald Bunting (Camilla), Terrell Bunting (Karen) and David Bunting (Teresa); and her brother Harold Collins (Wylene). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and many loving brothers and sisters.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Woodfin Memorial Chapel (1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Burlington Santa Fe Cemetery.
