He was predeceased by: his parent Sherwood DeForrest. He is survived by: his parent Etheland Harrison Dowd; his wife Joyce Pugh Dowd; his son Dan Dowd (Lyn); and his grandchildren, Ashley Dowd, Michael Dowd (Leah Jenkins-Dowd) and Russell Flade.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his memory.
