He was predeceased by: his wives, Carolyn Rust Miles and Evelyn Underwood Miles. He is survived by: his children, Roy A. Miles III (Lori), Littell Rust Miles, John Randolph Miles (Julie) and Carolyn Miles (Lyn); his grandchildren, Lauren Renee Miles, Rachel Miles Davis (Matt), Harrison Bryce Miles, Carolyn Grace Smith and Daniel Givens; and his great grandchild Jirah Mikhael Davis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, preferred charities are Shriner's Children's Hospital, St. Jude's and Nashville Rescue Mission.
