John Sorace Obituary

John A. Sorace, age 87, of Murfreesboro, TN and Brentwood TN was called to be with his heavenly Father on February 20, 2025. He was a loving father and husband.

John served in law enforcement from 1961 to 1992. He was promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief of the Metro Nashville Police Department in 1968 and held that rank until he retired.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York where he earned a full scholarship to CCNY and a fellowship to the Vanderbilt University Doctoral School in Physics.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Constance Sorace, his first wife Jane Kathryn Ross, his grandsons William "Jack" Sorace and Henry Sorace and his wife of 44 years, Sharon Rogers Sorace.

John leaves in his wake his daughter, Joan A. Wildasin Westerman, son Paul Sorace and two granddaughters Kate and Grace Wildasin and his stepdaughter, Rachel Ashley McCoy (Ray) and their son Carson.

Visitation will be March 7, 2025 from 9-11am in the Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery with the Mass beginning at 11am followed by inurnment in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery.
