He is survived by: his significant other Alyce Palmer Wood; his sons, Dr. Mark Miles Barret (Monica Barret) of Tyler, Texas. and David Watkins Barret (Denise Gates Barret) of Sugar Land; and his grandchildren, Kristan Gates Barret, Edward T. Barret III of Sugar Land, Bailey Alyce Barret and Libby Anne Barret of Austin, Texas..
