He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary S. Balch and Wesley L. Balch; his wife Annette G. Balch; his brother Jack; his siblings-in-law, Mildred Balch and Ferdinand Tann; and his great grandchild Weslee Gianna Balch.
He is survived by: his children, John D. Balch (Sheila) and Margaret B. Farmer (John) of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandchildren, Thomas Balch (Marida), Ben Balch (Lauren), Amy Balch, Joshua Farmer (Kaitlin), Ethan Farmer (Cayla) and Anna Dyson (Caleb); his great grandchildren, Eli, Ryman, Asher, Kinley, Jude, Hudson, Karley, Kolbe, June and Lila; his brother Bobby; his sister-in-law Nancy Balch of Decatur, AL; his sister Joyce Tann of Decatur, AL; and his brother-in-law Frank Gray (Jo) of Athens, AL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
