He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Cochran; his parents, Hobart Cochran and Mary Cochran; his in-laws, Levi D. and Lucille Webber McCoy; his sister Marlene Peterson; his brother-in-law Melvin Peterson; his nephew Lynn Peterson; and his grandson Andy Cochran.
He is survived by: his children, Sheria Johnson, Theresa Fitzgerald (Larry), Roger Cochran and Dwayne Cochran (Nancy); his grandchildren, Bret Johnson, Linsey Parkins, Lauren Hills and Madison Cochran; and his brother Kendall (Ruth Etta).
