He was predeceased by: his father Earl Johnson; and his brother Anthony Johnson. He is survived by: his mother Lucille Johnson; his wife Janice Johnson; his daughter Rosanna Lucille Johnson Eggers (Ray); his granddaughters, Shaleah, Shyanna, Chloe and Channah Eggers; his son Joseph Lee Johnson Sr. (Whitney); his grandchildren, Joseph Lee Johnson Jr., Clayton Lee Johnson, Tyler Fletcher, Lillie Johnson, Chailyn Johnson, Maddison Johnson and Gracie Johnson; his siblings, Linda Harper (Dean), Angie Edmisten (Steve), Missy Hightower (David), Lloyd Johnson, William Johnson (Janet) and Aaron Johnson; his brother-in-law Bob Price; and his pet Piper. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cover funeral expenses.
