He was predeceased by: his father Herman Lawton; his grandsons, Evan Lewis and Charles McMillan; his brother Carlock Greene; his siblings-in-law, Rev. JD Rash, Billy Ray Rash, Roy Poe, Joyce Rash, Frances Peregrine and Mary Sue Greene; his nephew Jeff Poe; and his niece Susan Mast Long.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Rash Greene; his children, Garry Greene (Denise) and Kimberly Dean (Adam); his brother James Henson Greene; his grandchildren, Jessica Lunceford, Kristopher Blevins, Devan Lewis and Harley Greene; his great grandchildren, Sarah Presnell, Bella Presnell, Landyn Greenlee, Oliver Blevins, Elizabeth Blevins, Waylon McMillan and Lexie Reno; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Mast (Eugene), Shirley Rash and Carolina Greene.
