He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Hess and Elsie Hess; his wife Jean Hess; and his siblings, Frances Wilcox, Mary Thompson, Wesley Hess, John Hess, Willis Hess and Donald Hess.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Robert Hess (Sandy) and Victoria Caldwell (Mike); his grandchildren, Steve Dugan, James Dugan and Shawna Dugan; and his sisters, Ellen Dancy and Shelby Hicks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
