He was predeceased by: his parents, Asberry Ballard and Gertie Burchett Ballard; and his brothers, Bobby, Pete, Tommy, Harvey and Tracy Ballard.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Taylor Ballard; his sons, Brian and Hank Ballard; his granddaughters, Mckenzie of Mount City, Tennessee, Hope of Mount City, Tennessee and Chloei Ballard of Mount City, Tennessee; his siblings, Peggy Ballard of North Wilkesboro, Asalee Ballard of North Wilkesboro and Roger Ballard (Cindy) of King; his niece Carrie Jane Isaacs of Lenoir; his mother-in-law Betty Taylor; and his sister-in-law Karen Taylor of Foscoe.
