She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Shupe and Mabel Brooks Shupe; her husband Pastor Norman Reece; and her siblings, June Cress and James Danny Shupe.
She is survived by: her children, Debra King (Robert), Barbara Quante of Mountain City and Norman "Bud" Reece (Michele) of Mountain City; her grandchildren, Victoria, Josh Wilson, Norman "Buddy" Reece III (Lisa), Chase Simpson (Nikki), Ashley Kuhle, Patrick Christman, Benjamin Reece and Gracie Reece; her sister Sue Treadway (Jimmy) of Newton, NC; and her brother-in-law Daniel Reece (Janet). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
