He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James and Josephine Grooms; his uncle William "Buddy" Grooms; his grandparents, Horace and Lizzy Vandiver; his uncles, Billy Joe Vandiver, Charles Vandiver and Gerald Paul; and his aunt Joyce Paul.
He is survived by: his father Allen Vandiver; his siblings, James Wayne "Buster" Vandiver (Janet) and Tammy Annette McPeak (Garry); his nephews, Jared Ayers (Diana Himes), Cameron McCanless (Christina), Trenton Vandiver (Jerry Wayne Bailey), Zachary McPeak (Kaitlin), Colton McPeak (Ashley) and Peyton Vandiver (Hannah Pangle); his aunts, Laticia Grooms, Lisa "Sissy" Tate, Ruby Vandiver and Peggy Vandiver; and also Margaret Ann Vandiver. He is also survived by 10 great-nephews; 2 great-nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
