He is survived by: his wife Maria; his daughters, Lisa Yankowski, Jessica Yankowski and Michele Briant; his brother Ed Yankowski (Ann); and his grandchildren, Alexandria and Aiden Briant.

Richard practiced philanthropy throughout his life; in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause he felt passionate about.
