He is survived by: his wife Penny Luna Bates; his mother Phylus Redmon; his brother Steve Bates (Jennifer); and his nieces and nephews, Bradley Bates (Tiffany), Courtney Ross (Caleb), Jakob Bates, Erin, Karlee Wakefield, Ava and Noah Luna. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
