He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Tompkins and Ola Ellis Tompkins; and his sister Sherlyn. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his sons, Kevin Tompkins (Jill) and Greg Tompkins (Amanda); his grandchildren, Chelsey Moïse (Taylor), Carter Tompkins (Jessica), Zachary Tompkins, Drew Tompkins and Cameron Tompkins (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Haven Tompkins and Lincoln Tompkins; and his siblings, Charlotte Tompkins (Daryl), Gail Horner, Roger Tompkins (Teresa) and Sheila Crouch. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Victory Baptist Church (1777 Tate Ln, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
