She was predeceased by: her parents, William Bill Burton and Lorene Collins Johnston Burton; her husband James "Jim" Gaines; her son James "Tony" Gaines; and her siblings, Doris Johnston Hughey and Richard M. Johnston.
She is survived by: her son Russell "Rusty" Joe Gaines; her daughter-in-law Vicki Sizemore Gaines; her grandchildren, Christy Odom (Garrick) and Grant Gaines (Laura); her great grandchildren, Will, Ella Jo, Ava and James Michael; and her sister-in-law Nita Johnson.
