He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy June Lowe Thomas of Midway; his sons, Vincent Scott Thomas and Rodney Vance Thomas; his parents, Sylvanus "Van" Thomas and Viva King Thomas; and his siblings, Lydia Plemmons, Archie Thomas, Criss Thomas, Helen Roberts, Pauline Tweed and Fremont Thomas.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Lincoln, Natalie Thomas, Thornton, Kayla Miller and Holden Miller; his great grandchildren, Isaiah, Emory, Jeremiah and Ellis Ruth Thomas; his caregiver Crystal Vandiver; and also, Gerald and Rebecca Roberts-Miller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several cousins.
