He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Cox; his son Cary Cox; his daughter-in-law Crystal Cox; and his sister June Whaley. He is survived by: his grandsons, Brandon and Justin Cox; his siblings, David Cox (Volena), Mona Myers (Dwight), Sherry Baynes (Mark), Gary Cox (Nanette) and Howard Whaley; and his sister-in-law Barbara Nease (Ray). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (440 Hal Henard Rd, Greeneville, TN 37743).
