He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elbert Morris, Sr. and Virginia Tapp Morris; and his grandson Steven Kimery. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Morris; his sons, John Christopher "Chris" Morris (Teresa) and Andrew Glenn "Andy" Davis (Becky Jo); his siblings, Patsy Morris (Jesse), Becky Kitchens (Bill), Janice Morris, David Morris (Teresa) and James Morris (Ann); his grandchildren, Brittany Elizabeth Morris Benedict (Josh), John Christopher Morris, Jr., Coleman Glenn Morris (Shelton O'Neal), Clayton Andrew Davis and Courtney Jo Davis; and his great grandchild Elizabeth Grace Morris.
