It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Stokes of Moscow, Tennessee, born in Holly Springs, Mississippi, who passed away on July 29, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Clifton Treadwell and Mantie Lou Jones Treadwell; her husband Garland Stokes; and her siblings, Peggy Sue Treadwell and Robert Clifton Treadwell.

She is survived by: her siblings, Carolyn Henning (Jim) of Rossville, TN, Neita Joyner of Eads, TN, Sandra Kay Russell of Somerville, TN, David Jones Treadwell (Sylvia) of Collierville, TN, Eugene Grant Treadwell (Becky) of Collierville, TN and George Stanley Treadwell (Linda) of Olive Branch, MS.; her stepsons, Garland Dennie Stokes, Jr. (Lou) and Randy Stokes; and her grandsons, Tracy Stokes and Greg Stokes. She is also survived by two granddaughters, two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.

“I am trying,to find out Betty's address in Moscow, Tn. She was caring for a kitten/cat that belonged to a mutual friend, Ester Smith Gurkin who is now also deceased. I contacted FCAR Fayette County Animal Rescue. They said if they had her home address, they could check her home for any animals that may need care since she is deceased. if any of her family sees this, please call FCAR or me, Margaret Brownlee 901-734-1652.
