He was predeceased by: his wife Imogene "Toots" Long Sykes; his parents, Cecil Evan and Ethel Holston Sykes; and his sister Betty Self. He is survived by: his daughters, René and Patti Sykes; and his sister Delorice Bell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Humane Society of Jefferson County.
