He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Mae Gregg Brady and Charlie Clifton Brady; his grandparents, Will, Dorthula Gregg, Mollie and Frank Brady; his sons, Michael and Steve; and his sister Dorothy Ford.
He is survived by: his brothers, J. C. Brady (Lorene Brady) and Robert Brady (Phyllis Brady); his wife Serena Hollingsworth Birchfield; his children, Gary D. Birchfield (Janet Birchfield), Robert D. Birchfield (Cathy Birchfield) and Linda H. Birchfield (Max Shell); his sister Barbara Golden; his grandchildren, Mary Serena Davis, Kevin Shell, Amanda Jennings, Lindsay Birchfield and Jessica Birchfield; and his close friend Steve Conway. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; several in-laws.
Later she developed Alzheimer's. After a short time, she had trouble walking without falling.
