He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Frank" McKinley Brockwell and Mary Juanita Thompson; and his sisters, Darlene Parker and Bonnie Henson. He is survived by: his wife Janice Sue Winstead; his children, Michael Brockwell, Timmy Brockwell and Kimberly Brockwell; and his siblings, Charlotte Ann Kelley, Jennie Brockwell Stapleton, Gene Brockwell (Myrtis) and Jay Walter Brockwell (Debbie). He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
