It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Veda V. Sumpter of Morristown, Tennessee, who passed away on January 2, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband David Sumpter; her parents, Hobart Owens and Alice Owens; and her siblings, Obie Owens, Mary Ellen Bays and Helen Sumpter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Wanda (Barry Childress), Donna (Jonathan Shelton) and Beverly (Jim Hunt); her grandchildren, Selena Hayes (Greg), Charles Bearden (Beth), Dawson Hunt and Isabella Hunt; her great grandchildren, Arianna Hayes, Alexis Bearden and Olivia Bearden; and her brother Mathis Owens.
