He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James and Melba Carter; his father Aaron Tooley; and his nephew Connor Deyoung. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Carter; his children, Austin Carter, Loralie Carter and Jackson Carter; his mother Pamela Carter; his siblings, Jason Carter (Rose) and Heather Davis (Brad); his aunt Debbie Mathis (Dean); and his parents-in-law, Larry and Dorothy Miller. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
