He was predeceased by: his father William "Brown" Purkey; his brother Ronald Purkey; and his brother-in-law Allen Greene. He is survived by: his wife Delores; his daughters, Deedra Burroughs (Doug) and Jessica "Jess" Duby (Ben); his grandchildren, Blake, Teagan Burroughs, Sam and Jack Duby; his sister-in-law Millicent Johnson (Paul); and his nieces, Melanie Redding (Dan), Amber Moore (Brandon) and Kala Cupp (Dustin).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Timothy Initiative in care of First Baptist Church Morristown.
