He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Sawyer; his parents, J. B. Sawyer and Mayme Sawyer; and his brother Steve Sawyer. He is survived by: his children, Bobby Sawyer (Misty) and Christy Romo (Joe); his grandchildren, Kip Sawyer (Whitney), Brook Neal (Daniel) and Alex Smith; and his siblings, Vickie Sawyer, Shelvie Hicks (Gene), Shirley Turner (Pat) and David Sawyer (Diane).
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (200 Jaybird Rd, Morristown, TN 37814). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Emma Jarnigan Cemetery (855 S Fairmont Ave, Morristown, TN 37813).
