He is survived by: his son Michael Bowers (Nova); his grandsons, Noah and Nolan Bowers; his sisters, Carolyn Beal Gilliam (Carroll) and Nancy Beal Gregg; and his aunt Betty Smith Helton (Marilyn Bowers). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
