He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Burns and Cordelia Schuyler Carter; and his son Robert Keith Carter. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn M. Carter; his children, Tim Carter (Lisa), Kay Hurley (Mark), Marc Carter (Libba) and Scot Carter (Stephanie); his close friend Shadow; and his siblings, Bill Carter (Barbara), Alice Morris (Bobby), Donna Greene, Pauline Martin and Jane Masters. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
