He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Burchell and Gertrude Burchell; and his sons, Terry and Tom Burchell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Burchell; his grandchildren, Evan Burchell (Leslie), Wesley Burchell, Hannah Burchell, Ethan Burchell and Erik Burchell; his great grandchildren, Eli Burchell and Adalynn Burchell; and his siblings, Glenn Burchell, Shirley Setser and Peggy Vesser.
