He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Lipe and Lillie Lipe; his sisters, Kathryn Edmonds and Vonda Coli; and his former wife Marie Lipe.
He is survived by: his wife Opal; his daughter Donna Moore (James); his grandson John Russell Lipe, Jr. (Pamela); and his stepdaughters, Rose Hollingquest (Jack), Shawnee Driskill (Wayne), Lillian Reed-Webb (William), Kitty Benson (Greg) and Opal Adkins (Steve). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, 20 step-grandchildren, and 39 step-grandchildren.
