He was predeceased by: his former wife Dorothy Estep Clawson; his parents, Garfield Clawson and Eva Rogers Clawson; his siblings, Muriel Sharp, Cecil Goins, Sara Bett Brown, Bonnie Russell, Ralph Clawson and George Clawson; and his siblings-in-law, James Estep, Jr., Ann Howard Estep, Elizabeth G. Estep and Diane Ruth.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Knight Clawson; his children, John Estep Clawson (Nancy Carol Clawson), James Rogers Clawson (Carolyn Holt Clawson) and Suzanne Clawson Poole (Barry G. Poole); his stepchildren, Russ Knight (Vicki Knight), Dr. Daniel Knight and Caroline Knight; his grandchildren, James Rogers Clawson, Jr. (Emily Clawson), John Daniel Clawson, Stephen Estep Clawson (Lindsey Clawson), Dr. Ashlee Poole Lynch (Paul Lynch) and Leslie Poole Lynch (Zac Lynch); his stepgrandchildren, Hailey Knight Bales (Chris Bales), Brandon Knight and Abbi Knight; his great grandchildren, Anderson Lynch, Colson Lynch, Archie Lynch, Emery Ann Lynch, Tate Clawson and Beau Clawson; and his brother-in-law Carroll Ruth. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
