He was predeceased by: his son David Lynn Swatsell; his parents, James William and Mary Elizabeth Swatsell; and his siblings, Mary Ann Swatsell and Michael Lynn "Mickey" Swatsell.
He is survived by: his nieces, Katherine Swatsell and Sarah Swatsell. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
