He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Clifford West and Mattie Cavett West; his sister Viola Turpin (Wayne) of Sweetwater, TN; his sister-in-law Andrea Kay Lucille Millard; and his nephew Michael James Millard.

He is survived by: his wife Josephine West; his children, Jennifer Powell (Tom) and Jeff West (Karmon); his grandchildren, Jarrod West, Jake West, Claire West and Reed West; his brother-in-law Bob Millard; and his nephew Robert Joseph Millard.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers and gifts for the memory of Herman, donations to the Morristown Boys Club be made in his name.
