He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ward and Mary Ward; and his siblings, Gene Ward, Wayne Ward, Oakalee Newberry and Joan Peto.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie Mitchell Ward; and his sons, Chip Ward (Macie), Les Ward (Heather), Daniel Ward, Joe Ward (Gabbie) and Scott Mitchell. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
