He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred M Self and Brenda Kay Weems; his brother Jason Self; his stepson Clinton Arnold; and his grandparents, Roy C., Maude E. McCarter, Tony and Edna Self.
He is survived by: his wife Dawn Hickman; his children, Scotty (Chelsea Self) and Kenzie Short; his stepsons, Lee Short, TJ French and Greg Purkey; his grandchildren, Christian McLamb, Elaina Short, Bryson Arnold and Jayden Purkey; and his brothers, Tim G Self and Eddie Lee Self. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
