He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hugh and Naomi Esther Cox; his parents-in-law, Horace and Gladys Holt Jefferson; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Joe Green and Vanessa Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Shelia S. Cox; his children, Dan R. Cox (Susie), Misty Cox Simpson and Shawn Douglas (Candy); his grandchildren, Brooke Danielle Cox, Aaron Shawn-Thomas Cox (Heather), Hunter Douglas Cox (Caitlin), David Jacob Lewelling, Bailey Suzanne Mary (Jacob), Carissa Joan Day (Blake), Jestin Kendrick Lewelling (Erika), Christian Tanner Coley, William Peyton Cox, Jordyn Grace Simpson, Matthew Ogden (Halie), Macey Hendrickson (Blake) and Maddox Ogden; his great grandchildren, Jase Griffin, Addy Sue, Parker Jacob, Asher James, Archie Blake and Payton Grace; his sister Patricia Ann Carr (Bryan); and his nieces and nephews, Tara Mitchell (Joey), Tyler Cox (Courtney), Natasha Cox, Jamie Cox and Alicia Carr. He is also survived by many beautiful great nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his many spiritual children.
